daiwa egi 2506 anyone used one?

Hey guys,

daiwa egi reels had a look on the website and found one on ebay that i have bid on they look like a okay reel for breaming as well .anyone used one or have a opinion on it?

Kriso the spool is very shallow they are good for squid thats all i use mine for but they dont hold much line

hey mate. I purchased one from ray and annes earlier this year. In my opinion it is a great reel.Spool isnt as shallow as it seems as it took 150 metres of 8lb sunline pe with room to spare. On its first use It caught several barra up to 80 cms at the barra park. After many consecutive uses the reel has performed admirably. The only issues are the max drag limit being 3kgs, while other reels in the 2500 size bracket having 7kgs of drag, although if you are fishing lighter line as i am this shouldnt be seen as a problem. Bottom line its a great reel for a great price.

cheers lachie i will be mainly using it for bream and flatties so 3kg drag is more then enough for that. thanks for the info and welcome to the site

sorry for the late reply mate havent been on lately. paid 200 dollars. I see youve recieved the reel what are your thoughts of it so far? NIce smooth and most of all loud drag hey?

just turned up , really impressed with it, your right the drag is loud for a daiwa thats for sure, wont get to test it properly till the state of origin though, there a sexy lookin reel though and the knob on it is really comfy!

yea it is quite loud. I thought it was strange that daiwa put the medium size rcs knob as it looks a little out of place in my opinion a small rcs know would fit much better. Not a big enough problem to warrant paying 50 dollars for a small rcs knob though. enjoy your reel mate
