Nissan X Trail

Thinking of buying a Nissan X trail 2008 model and wondering if anyone has one and what they think of them...e.g any issues with em..

the old girl has one, wouldnt call it an off roader. but quite comfy in the lumpier roads, and reasonable economy.

parents and sister have one each, both about 03 or 04 though i think. have been great cars with trouble free life. old man took his to moreton and towed a 14ft tinny, i didn't think it was an ideal vehicle for towing up the beach but he proved me wrong, didn't get bogged

i've heard some shockers about the 4wd system overheating while beach driving. personally i think if you are wanting a proper fourby go for something like a pathfinder. that said if you are after a softroader with some offroad capabilities then they are okay. the forester is pretty hard to go past if you're keeping your options open.

Thanks guys. this is just going to be for normal road use as we want something bit higher of the ground,It also has plenty of boot space for the kids bikes...

I used to put the reversing sensors in the xtrails when I worked at the port, not a bad car as you said heaps of room in the boot and not to bad to drive...

Those optional wings really help out no doubt

The problem with the Xtrails was in the soft sand confusing the traction control thingy.

They do what they were designed for well from what I've read though.

I'm sure you'll love it and the extras over a tarmac car it will give you, Dimo.

Just after a Single cab with Tray after a Hilux, Bravo, Rodeo or Triton . not really fussed.

The plastic front quarter panels are classic on x-trails. As flimsy and ridiculous as they feel they are an awesome idea as they greatly minimise the risk of damage from a bump or a shopping trolley.

Yeah my cousin told me about that before I bought it, but these days 90% of the cars are plastic They don't make cars like they use to...
