Rod Repair Advice

Hey,

Was wondering if anyone could help with advice on a broken rod. It was a new 7' 3-5kg Veratis, that has now had about 2-2.5 inches snapped off the end . I will try and take it back to where I bought it but dont like my chances of getting it replaced.

Basically it has snapped down to just above the second runner, can this be repaired if so can I do it myself or is there someone that I should be talking too?

How'd it snap? that will be the first question the shop will ask.

You can fix it mate, most stores sell guides. Just need to buy a new end guide in the size that now fits the blank and use hot glue to stick it on.

I've had to do it in the past, it's a fairly easy fix. If your not confident in doing it take in to your local fish store, or call a few and find out if they can do it for ya.

The only thing is the rod will never feel the same again.

I know it wont feel the same, really pis**es me off as it was not my fault it got broken. Anyway got to get over it - more specifically with the tip, as it has snapped right down near the second guide do I cut that off and replace it with the end guide?

That's pretty much it mate, best way to cut it is with a dremal multi tool, or a tile cutter to get a neat end.

Then take it to a shop and match the size.
