Pirtek Fishing Challenge

Hi guys, hope you all had a good day on the water regardless of how many fish you caught.

It was real tough out there, not much tidal flow to encourage feeding and those that were feeding were very timid.

Struggled all day until near the end at 5.30pm, got this one.

Officials will decide length but near but not quite 43cm in my opinion, cheers wayne

Haha - the girl that got 1st Junior for whiting goes to the school I teach at. She'll be very confused when I say 'well done on catching the biggest whiting' on the first day back at school!!!!

Congrats Youngy - great whiting.

Hi Guys, thanks for the comments, it has been a fantastic experience.

I was surprised to learn there were just under 4,000 entries in the comp Australia wide, made for good odds to win the boat in the lucky draw.

Hopefully it will get bigger and bigger each year, only $20 to enter and the money goes to a good cause.

kmcrosby, Tiarna is a gun whiting fisherman, her dad isn't bad either, here is a photo of one she caught in a previous comp, cheers wayne
