queensland Gold Coast trip 10.7.11

With the brilliant weather forecast set for Sunday, me and the missus decided to pack the boat and head down to the Gold Coast to spend the day. My missus loves fishing and the last couple of sessions she has been curious to try and use the soft plastics. So I have been teaching her, and she has been watching the squidgie DVD's. Well, I can tell you now, she is now fully qualified in plastics fishing.

The first 3 flathead caught came from her brilliant style. The cry of, "I think I have one", when I turn around the light rod is bouncing all over the place shaped like a letter "C".

The day ended up being a great day. Unfortunately, a lot of small fish, and only just legal ones.

In the end we caught 11 flathead, 2 bream, 1 Summer whiting, 1 sole, and a small tailor.

All on plastics, again the squidgies accounting for most fish.

Ended up taking home 3 flathead, 2 at just legal 40cm and 1 at 42cm.

The whiting and sole also made it into the ice slurry.

8 flatties are still out there to grow bigger for another day.

I come home today, and I see she has already rigged the rod for the next session.
