NSW trip

G’day, how everyone going(:

Well Dad & myself decided to make good use of the time he had off work, so we decided to head down south so he could give me a look at his neck of the woods. Early Thursday morning we drove down to coffs harbour with afew stops along the way, The first stop was to take a photo of this strange cloud that looked like a giant UFO [sorry about the quality]

After that quick stop we went into Ballina for breakfast, then continued our drive down to Coffs. We arrived at Coffs around 11 with the first stop being at “Fishing Tackle Australia [Motackle]â€. Truely a must see for any keen angler, Heaven on Earth if you ask me:P

After spending a solid 2 hours in Motackle we cruised around coffs walking out to the rock wall where the weather was perfect, ill let the pictures do the talking.

After checking into a little motel for the night we went for a quick flick down the creek at around 4. Great little Creek with plenty of activity got afew small bream, wasn’t so much about the fish but it was just plesent to be in such a nice part of our country (:

The next day we left coffs early to slowly start making our way back up the coast, on the way out we got afew snaps of the big banana

we stopped in a Woolgoolga around 7:30 just to have a look and get afew photos

Driving further up the coast we got to Red rock around 8, a nice sleepy little coastly town which would be a nice place to live, located just north of corindi beach. Such a nice area with heaps of nice looking fishing locations.

After leaving red rock we went into grafton for some breakfast then drove to Yamba, we got to yamba around 11, great weather perfect to take afew nice pictures(:

After yamba we headed over to Iluka to catch up with a mate, had a flick in the river which produced a small bream & tailor. We had lunch then we looked around iluka {Fraser reef,Woody heads}

Around 4 in the arvo we fished the iluka pub jetty. Afew little tailor but apart from the fishing the sun going down was a good sight.

Saturday morning we fished the Iluka rockwall, Tuna,tailor & salmon school busting up everywhere just to far out to put a cast onto them which was disappointing, The waves at the beach were bloody awesome shame i forgot my boards): but solid consistent swell all day. Great weather (:

It was hard but it was time to say goodbye to Iluka, such a nice little sleepy place which i would like to revisit soon.

On our drive back to Ballina we stopped in at evans heads, the evans head fishing classic was on and boat where everywhere. After a quick stop there we continued to make our way up to Ballina. We checked in to a little motel in Ballina then into Alstonville to catch a with moses_byron_bay to prep the gear for our jigging trip out on RU4reel chartes in afew weeks time(:

Early Sunday morning we went for a flick in a little creek which produced a bream and a small lizard, got wiped out on a blade maybe a jew??

Leaving Ballina we made out way up to Lennox heads and Byron bay and had abit of a look around,

After Byron we drove back up to the gold coast ot catch up with my grandparents then back to Brisbane after afew days away in paradise, was a fun trip just sussing out afew spots so next time we go down we can do alot more fishing. Great weather the whole four days and is truley an amazing part of our beautiful country(:

Nice work plugga we were down in coffs in march,WHAT a spot and the weather was great then to.When we walked into motackle my told me to pick up my jaw what a place I could of stayed there all day but with the misses and kids in tow I had to cut it short but didn't walk out empty handed. :evil: :evil:

this trip was just to suss the place out but next trip ill make sure ill give it a go down there(:

not to much just a few bits n piece, they are ALOT cheaper through their online site

Sounds like a good trip and some great photos. The Yamba walls hold some very big jew. While I was down there a few months back the grounds keeper at the caravan park showed me a photo of his PB of 78LB or 35kg which was roughly 1.8m.

Absolutely beautiful part of the world, shame about not getting more fishing time but I suppose on a trip like that it's not so bad. Sad to see some good flatties like that go to the fryer but to each their own. Cheers.
