Smoke from North Stradbroke Island

21/07/2011

The Queensland Fire and Rescue Service (QFRS) would like to advise that the large volume of smoke seen at North Stradbroke Island today is the result of a controlled hazard reduction burn, led by the Department of Environment and Resource Management (DERM) on DERM land. Multiple fire crews are currently on scene monitoring the burn.
