On behalf of Austackle, I am proud to announce that in the last couple of weeks several top Tournament anglers have joined us or have agreed to use our rods. These latest additions will enhance our technical expertise as we continue to develop new rods and lures aimed specifically at the Tournament anglers.

Drew McGrath from Caloundra has been fishing ABT since 2005. Originally from Victoria, Drew moved to Queensland about 3 years ago. He is a very successful angler and his most recent success was at the recent ABT Bribie Island Bream Tournament where he beat Tim ‘The Bream†Morgan in very tough conditions.

Jamie McKeown is an ex Commercial Fisherman and lives on the Gold Coast. He has fished tournaments for many years and writes a regular monthly article in Bush n Beach magazine.

After 3 months of testing under Tournament conditions, Christine Hunt and Tracey Mammen have decided to fish exclusively with Takeda Fireblades and Austackle Camo-Stiks in the future. Christine and Tracey are 2 of the best female tournament anglers in Australia and have won numerous events in their own right.

Tracey has also enjoyed huge success as part of the TT Lures Team and regularly fishes with Darren ‘ Dizzy’ Borg in Team events. Christine is President of the Gold Coast Sportsfishing club and writes for Fishing Monthly magazine.

Darren

yeah Darren its good news for several reasons - its a great endorsement for our prodtcs and also gives us some additional expertise in developing new stuff. The fact that Christine and Tracey have removed their Shimano, Pfleuger and Daiwa rods from their boat is a pretty amazing endorsement for the quality of the new Fireblades and Camo-Stiks. These top anglers are pretty choosey what they use.

Drew won a Fireblade combo at Bribie and was so impressed with it and also the sample lues we gave out to all anglers that he was very keen to join the team. He came in on Friday and purchased 35 lures so i guess that means he likes them! We dont insist that any of our anglers use our lures - they are quite free to use other products if they wish.

All of our team have had access to some new lures for the past few weeks which we are pretty exited about. They are in the 2012 catalogue but expect to have some stock arriving in about 6-8 weeks so they will be made available to the shops and (AFO members if no shop handy) as soon as they arrive.
