Maiden voyage

Took the yak out to Hinze dam today. Have to say I'm very happy with it, very stable, easy to paddle and turn, and comfy enough to fish from all day.

Things didn't go so well on the fishing front, had a few missed hits on the atomics, then hopped a couple of damiki blades for no joy, flicked some S.P's for an hour, again for nothing, tied on a bigger blade and towed it for a while, then old mate wasn't looking what he was doing and ran strait over it slicing the leader and wrapping my line up in his leccy prop. We fixed that and I tied on a spinner bait, paddled into one of the coves for a flick 3rd cast something smashed it and popped the leader. Went back to towing a blade on the way back to the ramp again no joy.

Still, it was nice to be out on the water, and even better to be out in my own vessel.

Will be back out tomorrow, then hitting up Talle or Coomera on Thursday.

Unfortunate on the fish front but Hinze a nice spot to paddle and it's good to see another member for the ever growing yak brigade.
