Sounder reading issues

My sounder is going crazy, replaced the transducer (last one was fried)

Humminbird 787c2x going anything about 3 knots just throws serious noise all over the screen, even the readings at stop are .. a little questionable but still ok.

And at higher speeds the depth reading goes all whack!!

Even with sensitivty down at 1/20!

Any suggestions??

are you running it off its own battery

are all connections clean

if its not any of these talk to the place where you purchased it

At a guess I'd say that it is most likely a little too high on the transom, however if you fried your last one, you may have more serious problems with the actual unit.

Same position, same mount- used to work.

Not that I know of, inspected the transducer and seems fine.

Running it off same battery as most electronics.

Connections clean.

The mount was a little loose and looked like it might have been kicked back, causing cavitation. Have given it a good ol tighten and have repositioned so hopefully it does the trick!
