Fishing in Moreton Bay Southerlys

Hi People,

Any ideas on where to fish a southerly. Going over to Peel area over the weekend. Havent fished there before. Wind looks like its gonna be southerlys so should i fish the northern end or forget peel altogether. Might be a bit blowie?

Any suggestions?

the deeper water between cleveland point and peel island gets nasty quickly . where you leaving from might spark some more ideas

I'd also be interested if you can get away with boating in more wind if it's southerly in the bay.

I know what 15+ knot is like from the north but haven't seen it from the south.

A mate is at Manly now and thinks that it looks calmer now in 25knot southerly than it did 2 weeks ago with a 15knot northerly. Trying to judge from land can be deceiving, but could this be possible?

it will be rougher in the southerly, the swell just takes more time to build up looking at it from the East i.e. Manly, Cleveland and Wello. The northerly swell just have plenty of time to get big by the time it reaches the same places.

Stick to the creeks and other sheltered places and get yourself a feed of Tings or flatties.

consistent 25 knots with gusts over 30 knots

This equate to 2 metres plus of sea between the mainland and peel.

Still, its better then northerlies

direction the tide is running has alot to do with how rough it is in the bay, when you get wind against tide it get dangerous very fast

if i was going out which i'm not i would go in the river or southern bay around jacobs well to jumpinpin

plenty of spots to get out of the wind down there
