Poly Craft 455

Looking into a Poly Craft 455, however i'm unsure if a 50hp will be enough power for this size boat. Has anyone had experience with one of these boat and is it worth getting the maximum 60hp, which the boat is rated to?

Any help would be great.

Ive been out in one a while back. I would definitely reccomend getting the 60.

Have heard from a few people that they are underpowered with the 50s.

Get 60 foreshore we have the boat and are in the process of upgrading to 60

rule i use on any boat is get max hp even if u dont use it all it normally gives better fuel econamy at cruise.

Poly's need the maximum HP.

Got a 4.1 tiller, rated 40 max, wish it was a 60 :whistle:

I have a 455 centre console and am in the process of upgrading ours to a 60 or even a 70 as I've also been advised it can take the extra 10 . They are very good boats you will enjoy .

I've got a DF50 on the back of my 4.55 and don't have any issues with performance. That is, it doesn't run like a dog. Max speed 54klms one up. I have trim tabs to help it get out of the hole though, they are a bit like Kim Kardashian, arse heavy.
