queensland Breakfast Creek - Shark, Bream, Flathead & Jew

Hey Guys, I went to Breaky creek last night with Doss and another mate, to fish for doss's birthday (today).

We Got down there around 5pm and we headed to the bridge to castnet. We did a bit of neting and it didnt produce any bait. Luckly some person was finished fishing and gave us some prawns. First cast, I get a nice legal bream.

The rain slowed down and we headed out to the point. a few hours went by we geting heaps of bloody catfish. I finaly get another Legal Bream.

Then we decide to head to the chairs. Doss got a fresh water eel. I see one of thoses asian sort of boats which taxi people go past and it was about to hit my line so i start winding it up. About 4m from the back i get a bang. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz I bring in a Nice Flatie + 50cm.

At This point Everone is starting to get pissed off with me getting the fish, So Doss decides to got to the BP.

We head back to the point, and we had a period of 2 hours of catching solid catfish. Then i go over to castnet to see if i can get some lives. But no, nothing a solid hour of neting. So i head back to my rod, start bring it in...snaged...then zzzzzzz. I pull up my PB Bream 35cm. At this stage every one was pretty pissed off at me :whistle:

Then doss got to sleep and its about 2am. We seen some tourists from the U.S. We talk to them for a while few hours and they asked about sharks,so what did i do trying to be a show pony, go for a shark, within 20mins i hooked up. They love the look of the shark.

Then Finally My mate Alex got a jew, i was heaps happy he got something, This is his PB fish for any sized fish.

At about 9am left and head back on the train.

It was about 80cm. only a little fella. Im used of doing allnighters, I did like 2 a week on the holidays.

The water is very fresh, no oil i could notive. Nice, if im not going to the barra park i mite head down there.

loved the report you guys are keen as i mean i like doin all nighters but not so keen on catchin the train with all my fishing gear that takes real effort. when u all have cars and licences youll be unstopable lol

great blog mate, i am coming over for a holiday soon and will give this place a try. i would love to catch the fish you have shown on this blog.

do you always baitfish or would you reckon on using artificial lures and worms. any advice would go down well.

Hey mate, I normally use live bait, i rarly use dead bait. but i have started to do a bit of luring but im not having that much success. but i remember last summer at breaky creek people where getting big threadys on the threadbustter lure and also on the jackle
