107cm Barra in fish kill at Lenthalls

One of the fella's on FishNtales has reported a fish kill of about 60 fish with the cold weather, they pulled out the biggest one and it measured 107cm.

Thats the first 1m plus barra from Lenthalls I have heard of, a bit sad how it met its end. Pity it did not commit suicide on my line a couple of weeks ago!

Is this happening from the cold? or drought?

A mate of mine said there had been a few bass meeting the same fate in somerset. he still managed to hook a fare few though, so not all bad.

I think its both mate, drought causing lower water levels, making the water temperature drop (and in summer rise) a lot quicker than normal

Sad. Just as I get into fresh water fishing all the fish die!

Never fear PM it will turn around....eventually, once la nina arrives itll be happy days and youll have bass coming out both ears.

Did this always happen during winter? It is the first time I've heard of mass fish kill from any of the dams.

yea did anyone read in the paper? monduran had over 2000 barra die, many over a metre, also many of their cod and other fish had been dying because of the cold snap as well.
