Hi guys

I am planning on heading out for a fish on Saturday with a friend in a boat however we're both relatively new to boating. Looking at launching at the paradise point ramp in the morning and was wondering if anyone had some pointers on some decent spots where we might be able to hook a few fish. We don't want to head too far out but would be happy heading into some creeks or rivers etc to hook up to a few flathead, whiting, bream or anything else that comes along!! Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

try around sovereign island it holds some good flathead and bream also jews and jacks and try fishing the sand banks around the area for flathead bream and whiting and work the drop offs as well are you using lures or bait?

Hi - If you are new to boating you have chosen a pretty busy place to start off. I personally would choose a quiet place to start off. The broadwater is a crazy place with a lot of idiots. If you do head out there make sure you do not get to phased and keep a good look behind and to the side of you. Important that before turning especially down there that you look behind you as there will always be some idiot about to pass you at break neck speed.

That ramp is ideal if you fish the mouth of the coomera, which is a great place to fish, Google maps would be a good start point, The aldershots is a good place for flatties, there is an island as you go out the mouth of the coomera on straddie side,heading north, that area is great for flatties.
