queensland Locations around Kingaroy

Stuck in Kingaroy for the week for work. Not to be outdone though I've brought along one of my freshwater casting outfits.

Does anyone recommend any good locations around Kingaroy? Most obviously is BP Dam, however its about 45-50 minute drive, which when doing a quick sneaky fish before work means a fair bit of travel to and from the location.

Mate I think there is a waterway called Gordonbrook dam that is not far out of Kingaroy, been a while since I have been out that way but I am sure it is not far out of Kingaroy, around 10 minutes or so.

You're spot on the money Aaron.

Rumour has it, it's fishing pretty rubbish atm - water very dirty and everything has gone over the wall. My plan for tomorrow is to give it a crack anyway or see if there is a road/creek crossing downstream. Can't trust the tackle stores

Have you fished anywhere around there by any chance?

Only fished BP and Lake Boondooma out that direction bit far for a quick before work dash, I just remember seeing the turn off on the way out there and thinking will have to check it out some time

Terry check that it is open more often than not its closed due to water quality issues.

Gordonbrook dam is quite often closed, they have a lot of trouble with blue green algae, check with the local water authority they will give you the heads up
