Well when I was in BCF the other day, they had an elcheapo knife sharpener.

Being bored with knife sharpening (5 years Roo shooting!) I thought I'd have a go at the easy way and buy it and see how it went.

Well it sharpens very well. However in the fine print it says be careful, sharp knives can cut, well guess what, they sure do, particularly if you use it as shown in the diagram. Should have known better, but you know follow the diagram etc etc.

Luckily I only cut one knuckle, probably the worst cut since I gave up skinning! Could not be bothered getting it stitched, so strapped it up with the good old magic tape!

I would recommend one of these these sharpeners, as they are very quick, cheap as chips and do an exceptional job, certainly cheaper than a quality steel!

just dont follow the instructions. After strapping up and having a bit of a play, I'd reckon the safest way to use it is turning it upside down in your hand, and keeping well away from your body, that way if it slips, it only gets fresh air! Also go slow!
