queensland Holidays! Whats everyone doing?

Hey everyone,

School holidays start on Friday or if your lucky like me they start on Wednesday, I'm wasting no time and will be up at Bribie on wednesday arvo fishing until saturday midday and coming back to brissie, then I'll be doing local trips until Friday when I'll be going to Straddie with Basskid until Monday then coming back and doing more local trips until the holidays end.

So thats my holiday, Whats everyone else getting up to?

Dunno yet but plan to do a fair bit of fishing up at caloundra,bribie and donnybrook and at the river mouth for squire/snapper and big bream.

Well thats changed, now we are camping at mission point on bribie, taking the boat over for 3 days of fishing, should be awesome.

goin on school camp from this tuesday - friday, canoeing in the upper brisbane river! not sure exactly where but im gona sneek abit of fishing in . as for holidays think i might be goin up to maroochy / moloolahbah area for a few days and will be hopefully fishin heaps up there.

Take some spinnerbaits and jackals you will get some bass for sure cast to the timber.

Thanks stu, but one problem i dont have any jackalls or spinnerbaits ( i rarely fish freshwater ) but ive got quite alot of sp's and poppers.. will the 2inch gulp shrimps work for bass ? and other bream sp's. And what kind of retrieve do you use for bass? thanks..

Those plastics will be fine and poppers work well there but that is on dark.Cast to the snags and let it sink a bit and slow retrieve

What are holidays :silly: If I get a full W/E thats a holiday for me

My idea of a holiday is to head out of the seaway head south and fish all the way to south west rocks then motor home stopping in sheltered bays or ports if the weather turns nasty

However for once i can cheerfully say that thanks to my honeymoon im getting 2 weeks off. Tanya and I will be doing some fishing. Hopefully bag a Brunswick River jack.

Gus - Just to tickle my curiosity, I'm gonna ask my g/f tomorrow if she'd be sweet with doing some fishing on our honeymoon if we ever get married. I will post results for a laugh.

That might solve the puzzle if she answers no don't marry her if the answer is yes go for it but I know what would make a great honeymoon and it don't involve a rod and reel that can be done when she has a head ache lol beem married twice :woohoo:
