Cairns Fishing- Nannygai and Mackerel Video Report

Hi,

Thought I would share 2 vids from a couple of trips out of Cairns with friends during June/July School hols.

Cairns Spanish Mackerel Mayhem- We got stuck into Spanish Mackerel, trevally, and the odd cobia in rough conditions (20knts +) on a wreck not far from Yorkey's Knob. We anchored and were using dead slimies and pillies on small gangs lightly weighted with a pea sinker. We started out using a short wire trace (single strand) but found this somewhat put off the fish and we caught loads more spanish mackerel running just 80lb leader (only lost 1-2 fish with bite offs). We kept the burley flowing which worked a treat as we found out when gutting the fish (full of pillie cubes).

Cairns Fishing- Big Nannygai. The Nannygai were also caught on a wreck 'somewhere' off Cairns. We spent close to 2.5hrs sounding around for the wreck which clearly wasn't where the GPS indicated. We were about to give up when the sounder lit up and we all got very excited. Obviously the wreck was covered in trevally of various species but we were sure there would be some nice reefies below. We anchored up and with very little current we were able to float down (using pea sinker) dead slimies and pillies. We worked our way through loads off trevally and pulled some nice large-mouth nannygai which were biting like small bream. It was only a relative short session and although we didn't get quantity we were happy with the quality.

GREAT Videos and awesome music guys

I think the copyright BS stinks as more than likely you bought the music already (either cd or down load) and you should have the right to use it on any You tube videos you make. I notice some of my videos cannot be played on mobile phones because of copy right issues. As if you are making any profits from your videos.

Also Canadian Club always goes well with that type (or any type) of fishing

tight lines and wobbly legs

Hey Kev,

Yeh the recording company's often reject videos due to copyright...but you just have dispute claim and state 'that the music was legally bought off iTunes, the artists are fully acknowledged, a product is not being promoted or advertised and the music is used for background purposes' and then they usually accept claim. The reason that some videos are unavailable are because I had quality issues (blurry) so I upload them in a 1080p HD which only allows them to be viewed on a computers (not mobiles, Apple TV etc..). I'm still working it all out.

Cheers
