queensland New boat + cobia = one happy me

Went for the first proper run in our new addition today. A cruise craft outsider 575 with a 140 suzi. Great boat so happy with it. Upsizing from a 4.8m centre con tinny we don't know ourselves. We find ourselves bracing when we go over chop expecting the usual tinny bash only to feel nothing more than soft and gentle glide.

So headed towards moreton stopped at the beacons. Jigged some yakkas threw them in the plumbed live bait tank which is a new and welcome luxury.

Went to curtin. Threw out a yakka . 10 minutes later caught this guy. A quick photo and back he went to fight another day. Pretty good day. Stoked

Nice cobie. I'm still feeling the chop in my 5m tinny. Top tub. Have fished curtain and nelson a few tines over the past month and been smoked three times. Suspect cobia may have been the culprit. What outfit did you use?

yeah I play it pretty safe 20kg broom stick with a penn spinfisher 850 50lb braid 60lb leader. had him in in 5 mins that incudes a tangle round the anchor rope. good combo for 120 bucks when on special. But thats a baby compared to some of the units getting round im guessing

Wow, would have just about pulled yours out of their sockets. I'll up size my gear next trip.
