Land-based Brisbane fishing spot for husband in wheelchair?

Hi,

I am looking for a land-based fishing spot for my husband. I think he prefers salt water fishing but would give freshwater a go if he had to. We live in Ipswich so anywhere in Ipswich or Brisbane would be fine.

My husband is sick so it needs to be wheelchair accessible or be a super short walk (10-15metres) from the car to the spot and have a flat place where I can set him up a chair and oxygen machine. It also can't be anywhere that gets too busy because he is immuno-compromised and we're coming into flu season, so...

Any recommendations would be so appreciated. We want to show him he can still do all the fun things! :)

Thanks,

Ellie

Ellie,

I'd say during the week would be the go, lot quieter.

If the fishing platform at Kookaburra park is fully repaired, (It was damaged by the big floods a few years ago) it would be the closest spot I know to you that fits the bill. Nice solid flat fishing spot, only a few yards from the access road.

It is also brackish water, good chance of catching salt water fish such as bream.
