queensland scarborough reefs

On Sunday I went to Scarborough but I didn't catch anything, hook up twice and my friend hooked up to something rather large. I think the reason that we weren't so productive was because we were fishing the bottom of the tide and there wasn't much tidal flow. I think that the next time we go, it will be during a better tide with more flow and in better conditions. Otherwise, when I went over the reefs, I could see the fish swim under the kayak it was beautiful. All while the chance of a fish, I'll be back to get the one that got away.

Good to see you thinking things through. You seem to have come a long way with your fishing and how you go about things.

Saw a kayaker bring in a nice snapper there last week.

The session was more to get out and explore the area more than anything because the weather wasn't too good and nor was the tide. Otherwise, I look forward to next time.

Hey mate I've found that those shallower reefs do better on high tide and around new or full moon (when the tides are a bit bigger). Dont be afraid to explore down the redcliffe peninsula as well theres a few weed beds and reefs that hold fish

Thanks tavita, I was pretty sure that on high tide the area would hold fish so I will be out again when the tides are better.
