hi all
does a garmin striker 4 record a track all the time as soon as the sounder is switched on

Its optional. You can track your paths or mark your gps spots but you have to enable it. I've got a striker 4 and found the youtube user instructional videos really helpful. Also link it with garmin active captain for a whole world of in depth charts.

how do i enable tracks

Not with mine atm, but from memory once your out and sounder going, you press the location button on console and from there you can track path or individual gps location.
