For those interested here’s a photo looking straight out through the creek entrance. It’s about half way into an incoming tide. The deeper water is just behind the last red buoy heading out at about 45deg along the back of the sand back on the right.

I stood on that sandbank at lowish tide trying to flag down a boat and tell them to go north and they just dove straight into it. 

 

You're mad if you don't drive up to the head and have a look before you launch, if you haven't been there for a while, just to be certain where the channel is. Obviously no good if you roll up at dark, but you wouldn't head out without being certain in the dark anyway, I would hope. 

It's easy to see from round hill car park. 

Save yourself some pain, and embarrassment.
