Deep cycle battery 4x4,

Don't use the winch to get to town but use in the paddock to snig things.

Was looking at one of those batteries but they have different posts

and wont fit my terminals.

Rang Battery world Townsville( going down there tomorrow  anyhow)

and they have what I think I want ( hows that ) so I'll call in and

have a chat. Can't remember how old this one is but would be

over 10years old, which came from them too.

Don't have a lot of choice in Towers you more or less have to

take what they stock.🥲

11 years is a great run for a deep cycle battery. Another AGM battery from Battery World sounds like the go.

With my recent lithium battery for the trolling motor it also doubles as a camping deep cycle battery (@24v) that can be used for running my fridge.

However Lithium is not recommended for engine bays.

My dual battery in the engine bay (on its last legs) will be gone soon to reduce the weight. No winch for me, as almost all my 4wd is beach, so a shovel and maxtrax gets me out of a bog.

Got a new one in Townsville, geez what a joint.

Best part of the whole show is the road out.

LEAD/ACID maint free same as last one, you gotta watch out for the

heat under the bonnet. Yeah.11years is good but I've had 4 starter batteries in the same

time.Deisel was 195.9 at United.

PS. Nearly forgot, KFC $48 big  bucket, that's

T tonight.

  • 9 months later...

I was almost shocked to pay $1.73 for diesel last week after paying between $2 and $2.30 a litre for so long.

My longest lasting AGM battery was a Giant 160 AH lasting about 7 years with regular heavy drawdowns....was cheap then.

I don't think there is much difference these days in lead acid or AGM batteries...lithium has a lot of variation and cost or brand name doesnt mean too much really.

I am holding off upgrades until the lithium replacement comes on the shelves....will be the death of lithium.
