Capricorn coast

Heading back up home way to rocky in a weeks time, dragging my 4.2 tin or with me. Looking for some close inshore reefs to hit up and probably up the Fitzroy. Anyone know where to start looking for a fingermark or 2? Never really fished that area, I fished the narrows and around Gladstone..

Finlay's reef and Coorooman creek served us pretty well. There's a high bank on the left as you head upstream from the boat ramp in Coorooman creek

We didn't as we were there in June. You stand a good chance this time of year though I would think. They get them there. 

We did ok on grunter and salmon.

That was the first time we ever fished around Yepoon too. The guys at Barra jacks in Rockhampton were very helpful.

If worse comes to worse I’ll just slip down to the narrows or Gladstone

I grew up in Gladstone but never ever fished Yepoon. I was impressed with the Capricorn coast.

Grew up in bilo mate, fished Gladstone all the time. Lived in rocky when I was a young fella but was more worried about riding bulls and chasing tail than fishing
