Boat Flooring

Hi crew,

I have to replace the marine ply in my tiller steer Stacer Seahorse. It has developed a few soft spots from where it gets the most traffic.

Has anyone used Thermolite for this and if so please let me know their results?

Compared to marine ply??

Do you have to put carpet down on this or is it ok to leave it bare?

Cheers

Happy Christmas

Hi there @Rooster69, I haven’t used the Thermolite composite boards before, but they do look the goods.

Are you able to get them at a wholesale or trade price? as the cost per sheet when compared to form ply of the same thickness is 4 or 5 times more expensive, that’s the only real downside I can see.

As for carpeting the Thermolite, it’s personal preference really, you could carpet, or paint (polyurethane), or just leave as is, the finish on the boards might be a bit slippery when wet though?
