Hinze dam

Hey guys, new to the page  

I have just bought a few kayaks. I have a hook reveal sounder. My 2 daughters are showing interest in fishing but I know that will disappear as fast as it starts if we catch ZERO!!
 

 SICK AND TIRED of donuts in Hinze, any pointers in a general direction to head (it seems so huge when you only have a paddle) how to fish it??? 
also are there any topography charts showing depth contours?

@rayke1938 is a regular there and catches plenty. He's crook at the moment, but should see this over the next couple of days and be able to help you out.

Yeah youngsters lose interest pretty quickly if nothing

is happening. Hope you get out there shortly.

Yes Ray the Bass King is a bit off colour at the moment.

Im pretty sure he’d suggest something like 

Make up some shrimp traps and bait them up with some dried dog food pellets.

Put them in the dam along some grassy bank in about a metre or so of water.

Go back in a week and put them up ( the kids should like this even before they start fishing)

Then use the live shrimp as bait in amongst the trees . Theres no secret spots , just keep moving till you find a few fish.There’s a very good chance you’ll all come away with a fair few bass quite easily .If you want a few pics of my home made traps and rigs used just ask, and I’ll post them for you. You will catch the bass  on lures but you’ll loose a lot to snags down there.Don’t forget to purchase your SIP licences as they are required in the Hinze Dam , together with all the appropriate safety equipment.
