Brisbane River Tarpon

Went back to the spot a few days ago at dawn and got 2 Tarpon (30 and 40cm), a small Giant Herring at around 30cm and a small Bream. The 2 Tarpon fell to a Stiffy Popper and the Bream and Giant Herring fell to a Shallow Ayu coloured Jackall Chubby fished in deep water. Missed a good half a dozen more surface fish and dropped 4 fish on the Chubby after a short run.

ScottG also got a solid 40cm Grunter.

It's part of Bushy's Stiffy series. There's a 120 odd mm size Stiffy Fizzer, 50mm Stiffy Popper, 60mm Stiffy Minnow and a 120 odd mm size Lipless Stickbait called the Stiffy Boney Bream.

All are pretty hopeless except the Popper, it really sticks to the water so you can pop it pretty fast for Trevally and the like without it jumping all over the place and getting tangled. Has a bit of weight behind it for its size and a nice rattle that you can hear whenever the lures in motion. Small twitches produce a nice spit of water.

That little Giant herring is awsome! hope you hook onto a much larger model, up around the 1m mark, now that would be a fight!

I'm confident they will be around if there's a few little ones ;) . No doubt one of the missed of dropped fish would have been one, there's been so many.
