queensland back in business at the barge

its been a while since i've had a good report from the barge , session kicked off about 11 ish wandered down to shultz's . the water was well over the bank seen some fish jumping about had a flick with the sx 40 walked down to the foot bridge and herd some splashing could see lots of little taylor cruising round , then a dark shape smashed them on the surface so ive lobbed the the sx40 in nesr the spot ,the lure had just hit the water when zzzzzzzzzzz off it goes , applied drag and the lure comes sailing staight back over my head lol so i played round for a while nuffin , headed to the barge cast a trusty prawn in and bang 1 bream 25 ish a few more breams a couple of catty's a small flat head ..not a bad session tally 6 bream ranging from 25- 28 4 catty's not the usual monster's and a small flat head 25 all fish returned no pics today we all know what these critters look like lol

at a guess it was either a small shark or flatty maybe even a thread fin

Do sharks take lures usually? I’ve never heard of it happening?

yeah i've seen whalers of various species caught on lures

Yeah. Up north in Barra country, they are fairly common. I saw Dave Butfield catch 2 or 3 in one day once (on HB's). And I've seen Starlo catch a Shark on (you guessed it) a Squidgie.

And someone from AFO nearly landed one on a popper
