Hammer Heads

Hello, i was just wondering is there any way to catch Hammerheads consistently, or is it just \"Luck of the Draw\" with shark fishing?

Hammerheads are uncommon in the Brisbane River. You most likely would encounter them from deep rocky walls at mouths of rivers and creeks like Tellabudgera Creek and outwards towards the bay. Like Shorncliffe and Redcliffe Piers with deployed baits. But when your fishing for them you can never think it's a Hammer. Could be a Bullie, Bronze Whaler, Tiger or Big Shovel Nose.

troy, tallebudgera creek is like 1 metre deep at high tide at the mouth..........i dont think many sharks would travel in there unless they are very small......but if they did get in there it would be heaven for them...

i got a 8 foot one of macleay a few weeks back using mullet strips after we let it co it hung around the boat for ages

Abu mate, 98% of shark attacks occur in waist deep water.

My point is, you would be surpirsed what 1m can hold.

If you talk to Bully fishermen, you can get very big sharks in quite shallow water.
