Where can I find tackle near spring hill?

I just arrived in your beautifull contry and I want to buy a fishing rob near spring hill to go fishimg in the brisbane river.

like krisco said big w in the city, there is also amart all sports on queen st mall in the city. other wise its mossops at wooloongabba or jones tackle lutwych. they would be the closest.esides that you would have to go to the suburbs for bcf etc

The BigW in the city is on the corner of Queen and Edward Streets. This is a nice stroll from Spring Hill. If you don't have any fishing gear you will need to know a bit more about what to target in the Brisbane River and the tackle needed to do that.

Go through some of the older post here on the site and it will givce you some ideas. You can always accompany some of the locals that fish the river to gain that knowledge.

just letting you know that big w wont have anything fancy. but the stuff there is ok and will catch you fish. hope you have some luck once you get all the gear

If you want a specialist store not far north of the city Jones Tackle is a good one as well.

I'm from Belgium.

I have bought a fishing rod and a reel at BigW store.

Now I still have some questions:

1.Where can I go fishing near Spring Hill because there is some guardrails and it's impossible to fish.I have to cross the river?I'm looking for a place close to Spring Hill to go by walk.

2.It's better to use a float (which depth?)or to fish on the bottom with a heavy sinker?

a worm it's ok?

3.I have bought a 12" Abu Garcia rod with a Shimano Alivio 10000FA reel and I would like to catch big fishes, what is the best according to you and witch way is better to catch him.
