Fishing Spot Near Griffith Uni- Gold Coast???

I shall be at the Griffith Uni Gold Coast sometime this week. Any advice on where to fish for a couple of hours? I've never been to the GC to fish.

um im not sure where the uni is but you could try any of the creeks that flow through the coast area.

from memory they are a few that i have caught some nice fish in.

tellebudgera creek is a nice one dunno how close it is to the uni though :S

I just had an idea, download yourself a program called google earth. It is a awesome program to find places to fish. only takes about 20mins to download

Im not to sure where the uni is, but u could always go to the seaway (up past seaworld) and try around the mouth or back towards seaworld itself (nice sandy spots) or even off the spit jetty (which costs a couple $ to get on). The canals have been producing well by the sounds of it, but which canal and where i have no idea.

from memory the uni overlooks the car park and spit near the shopping centre. if so you can just park at the carpark it right on the water, its just sand flats so should be bream whiting and flathead there for sure. just get some worm from the bait shop its like 200m back down there road im sure the carpark actually joins up to it its where the public pool is.

griffith uni is in southport/ashmore and is a few k's away from the broadwater but if you have a car just head strait down the smith street motorway toward southport and surfers. All along the broadwater you can get some decent flatties,bream and whiting. If you wanna hit the seaway you just head down the gold coast highway toward surfers and turn left after the bridge over the broadwater onto the spit and keep going till you hit the end. You can catch squire, trevs, cod, school jew, and most other things that swim if your lure is in the right place.
