queensland big fish this morning

Just went out this mornin to wet a line, went out and only caught one little prawn..

oh well I put him on the line hoping to snag a flattie or a bream with him.

A few minutes later somthing hit the line, this time I knew it was somthing bigger as it started to take spool all the way to the middle of the river, I was suprised and wasnt sure if it was a shark or somthing else.

Well thanks to the advice of the people on here I decided to be patient and i lossened up my drag a bit, played him a bit.

wasnt long and he was getting tierd.

the fish surfaced a few times and I seen it was a big threadie.

Couple of people on the bank were watching in amazement as I landed a 90cm threadie.

I didnt have a net or gaff but after fighting me for about 10 minutes he was buggered and I managed to grab him.

Well I actually kept him so Im going to eat it, hope it tastes ok.

Where was this caught? I bet those people would have been shocked. Its amazing how many people still think the river is average.

was caught up a little bit from yerongpilly,

yes angus lets just hope our technological advancements also

look after our rivers, its definitely worth looking after.

someone got 8KG of prawns last night with a 80cm threadie dropped when retrieving the net. there seems to be a quite a few fish around that part of river now

Never be afraid to put a threaddy picture up

There have been a lot more threaddies caught at this time of the year than last year im sure. Most people put them into the same season as sharks but there has certainly been more caught later.

yea they do actually so this time in a year is probably the best time to catch them coz they're feeding more to store some fat for the winter
