queensland large stingray

i caught this fish on a 2-4kg line weight, 1.8m lure rod. 8lb fireline and 6lb leader.

it took me 100mins to land the monster weights over 23kg.

then i released it after taking the photos

Welcome to the world of exaggeration Mick . I agree with Mick. It looks no heavier then 10kgs, and I have caught many. Also you didn't say anything about weighing it after capture.

Though I will agree on their hard fighting abilities. Good fun on the light gear.

The Ray both in my profile pictures and the 'Other Waterways' photo gallery from Nudgee last Summer was 20kgs. Much bigger.

Mate thats a cool ray and yeah i highly doubt 23kg. i thought you guys might be interested in this. these are massive rays caught in australian waters these guys are like 200-400kg each.
