Morton Is. Snapper

Had a great day around Morton Is. yesterday.

Came home with a mixed bag of about 10 fish.

The girls showed us up with these 2 Snapper measuring at 42cm and 62cm.

While i was unhooking the biggest, i got smashed by an even bigger one.

It went on about four runs, head shaking like it was at a Slipknot concert before busting me off at the braid on the reef.

I got busted off again later too but it wasn't on the reef.

It just clean snapped my 60lb flurocarbon leader.

Just to top it off.

Upon returning to the boat ramp, we came across this.....

I know, no one should laugh at someone else expense but....

I think about that possibility every time I'm on a ramp at low tide...poor bugger.

An unloaded 2wd ute on a slippery ramp pulling and reasonable sized boat = stupid. Ive seen even 4wd's come unstuck.

i didn't have too many dramas in the new prado on monday :woohoo: . however, i did nearly lose my falcon a while ago at the WMYC ramp. in retrospect quite funny. nice fish there nasty, i tried to buzz you on the vhf, couldn't get a response outa ya. i had a bloody good day out too, didn't fish much though. spent a lot of the day on the beach at moreton just chilling out.

Sorry mate, i had the VHF off all day.

I got a bit pissed off because my transducer was hanging off the broken bracket when i got to the ramp, so i decided to not go so far out.

I knew my hull would take on water and i couldn't find spots where i've never been before without a trusty sounder.

Sorry mate, i just cracked the shits, that's all.

Yeah, sorry guys.

My temper gets the better of me sometimes.

You know how it is when you have a new adventure planned and a last second mishap screws it all up.

It's all sorted out now though.

My new Garmin Fishfinder 400C colour sounder is ordered and on it's way.

Also, rescheduled the trip for next Friday and put new 40lb braid on the reel that's always loosing them on me.

I'd love to do it this weekend but i'm penciled in for a Tweed dive.

You guys keen for next Friday?
