Missing Butterworth Rod and Jarvis Walker Reel

Today I was pondering about all my rods, and I noticed I'm missing one, its strange because I didn't notice until yesterday, so I have no idea how long its been missing for and whats even stranger all of my better rods and gear are still where I left them!!

Its a real shame that my rod has gone walk about, it was my 1st ever fishing rod and held a lot of sentimental value (back from the days when I would get up early to watch cartoons, ask mum for permission to go fishing, ride my little bike to the local creek at the crack of dawn and catch mullet on bread and bass like fish on lures.

Dont have any youngsters around? Sometimes they will want a rod so bad they will knock one off, but their conscious gets the better of them and they nab the oldest one hoping that 1 you dont miss it, and 2 taking the oldest one is not as big a deal as if they had taken a good un

ye man i know what ur talking about i also kept my first rod and my brother recently broke it after he took it without asking. so now my first 5'6\" 2 piece rod is now a 3 piece. but as you said its the sentimental value not the quality of the rod.

Just yesterday I found my first ever rod - it's nearly 40 years old and brought back some memories of a big flattie at Caloundra. Can't find the old Bakerlite (?spelling) Alvey that used to be on it though.
