Had a few shrimps in the fish tank that I got tired of looking after,so I thought I would try an early morning session at NPD to see if the bass were starting to move about of a morning now that its warming up. Started at Bullockies for a big fat zero,so moved over to Macgavins were I found some willing fish. It was very refreshing using bait for a change, its a pitty its so hard to come by. But I must confess I prefer the artificals these days.

Really nice fish. You are right, great to fish for them with shrimps. But, its bloody hard to get good size bait.

Ps. Have you ever kept one of the yellas for the table? I let mine go, but am curious as what they are like as a table fish.

You've got to admit though Dino, when they're not biting it's more relaxing with bait:P :laugh:

Death Ray, they are a nice tablefish; good firm white flesh. Remove the fat line when filleting though.

Death Ray That one went home, as Ellicat said as long as you remove the fat they are OK

Ellicat I used to use bait to search locations then when you found a few fish use the lures next time

I'm still crap at luring fish, still a bait man at the moment, haven't really found my knack for lures and its just so frustrating when there are no fish biting. still good catches there,

The only way I learned to make lures successful was to leave the bait at home, read asmany articles as I could and watch other peoples actions.

yeah dino, I've done that a couple of times and with no luck, I should try it again now the weather and the fishing is heating up...
