  1. I highly doubt you'll ever need to use the full 10kg of drag, especially on lighter line like 30lb.
  2. I use these: https://www.bcf.com.au/p/mustad-bloodworm-hooks-4-15-pack/304574.html?gclid=CjwKCAjw6eWnBhAKEiwADpnw9qXCqC-8SCVznbdL4AjRBQ3bQ8mN9byI7pDgn4QgtGllOcj4ZwZKOhoCdWwQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
  3. I would say just use the conventional techniques that you use for the mussel lure. They look pretty similar. The anaconda description says they can be used on the beach.
  4. I've never used either lure myself but from what I've seen on youtube and reports this is what i think: I would say the cranka crab is a better all round lure for bream fishing in varied environments from flats to deeper water/rock edges. The 'muss' is definitely a harder lure to master and figure out - from what I've seen they're really only suitable for deep water around structure as they're a heavy lure without much action at all (they're basically just a vibe), meaning unless you're always fishing deep water jettys/pontoons with them you would be best off using them from a boat. They also tend to only lure in the bigger model fish (30cm+) that are happy to eat a lure of that size compared to the little picker bream. This means if you're fishing the muss you probably won't catch as many fish but they will be of good size, so quality over quantity. Examples of the muss being used:
  5. Haven't had any issues but I only access the forum via my PC or laptop.
  6. Hi guys. Sorry I'm a little late to the thread. I went yesterday on the public day - apparently there was approx. 4500 people. It was packed. I managed to score a fair few freebies/promotional items. Got a few pictures with some of the popular youtubers. You wouldn't believe how many 13yo kids were just crowding around some of the bigger youtubers in the Diawa section. Some kid even managed to score a $670 diawa reel (i think the maverick mq) for free in a giveaway! I didn't bother trying to get in with the crowds because I had a bigger interest in looking at the new products, plus, those big giveaways only happened every couple of hours. It's cool to see Rapala finally release some plastics, as with the other brands innovating on their lures. Had a feel of the new stradic (it's very similar to the current latest model), and also a Stella (will never be able to afford one ). Didn't get much of a chance to check out the new gear in the Diawa section because it was just packed with all those kids.
  7. Hi Andrew. I'm attending too! I'm trying to get there relatively early. The rod building get-together sounds very cool.
  8. Nice report Hamish, glad you ended up with that nice flatty on your last session. Thanks for the fish fillets, btw.
  9. Nice report Hamish hope it was a good way to spend your holidays. Nice read!
  10. It's great you're getting back into it. Nice kayak setup. I'm sure we all look forward to hear about your adventures!
  11. Awesome work. Sounds like a good few sessions you guys have had!
  12. Yeah, cool. I think they're definitely designed for finesse fishing skinny water in the sticks for smaller species like bream, bass, EP, etc.
  13. Speaking of jighead modification... Has anyone tried Steve Starlo's resin jigheads or something similar?? https://starlotackle.com/shop
  14. Good work @Tuna are fish. Lots of nice fish there.
  15. Nice camping trip Brian. Hope you had a good time.
  16. Not sure, but someone will be able to identify.
  17. @AUS-BNE-FISHO as Steve would say (not Old Scaley) - "River D*ck"
