Forum Rule - No Capital Letters (Caps)

AFO would like to remind all members of the Forum Rule to not use Capital letters. We kindly ask that all members refrain from using CAPITAL letters, in their posts and their post titles.

Not Acceptable:-

EG. FISHING TRIP TO MORETON

Acceptable:-

EG. Fishing Trip To Moreton

I thought it was a part of the rules. However, it's common courtesy and manners in any communication on the net.

OK NO WORRIES. No i understand what you mean. It is courtesy as it just looks weird when you are reading. Like the person is excited and yelling.

I think its a good rule.

I dont normally but made an exception for the light board as there is no lost and found section and wanted it to stand out a bit in the hope that someone may know the owner.

I didnt know any better then and sometimes tend to lapse. I also put the found light board post on the A fish forum and they changed it to normal configuration. Dont know whether the moderators did it or they have a programme that automatically does it.

I must admit thats one rule ive never understood. i know its \"bad\" ettiquette on the net, but can someone answer why? ive always felt the whole\" its like your yelling\" thing a bit week. because you know, your not yelling, your typing.....

Your right Ash typing in Caps is considered shouting and a form of angered expression and if pointed out to a person they usually respond with sorry for the caps my bad :pinch:

it wont be long and it will be bad etiquette to use abbreviations, like CAPS, for capitals

Guys I think this will just go around in circles.

Caps is like any other form of punctuation. It has its time and place to be used, and a time not to be. You don't use exclamation marks after every sentence. As Gazza said, for occasional use to hugely emphasise one word; no worries.
