Went to the Bottom Cabin this time with the Brisbane Fly Fishing Club boys. 

Stopped at Bolivia on the way for a few small Codlings, one on surface fly was fun.

They just upgraded the track down to the cabin which was nice of them

Fishing was hard, only about 20 Cod between five of us. The week before the lure boys had caught 50 or so. Damn I hate those lure guys.

Highlight of the trip was getting a big eat on my homemade bird fly, unfortunately I didn't check the leader and it got smashed a second time and now is jewelry.

Hard fishing upstream for fly, a mate and I had float tubes for an 800m stretch of pool downstream. Magic part of the country

Some beautiful fish. That shot of the road looks scary!!  (but fun)

What weight rods do you use? I have somehow lost all my fly fishing gear... sadface.

Ben Falls Retreat.

Worth a trip. I would make a plan but need to play things by ear for a little bit.

Lots of goats and deer as well.

@Drop Bear. I used a  5wt on the smaller Cod and a 10wt for throwing big flies like "The Bird" or "Mousey McMouse Face" at the big girls.

 Heaps of goats this time round, no snakes seen funnily enough, just water dragons trying to eat my Dahlberg diver

Rob most people I know that go there see dozens. And close. Only bow hunting allowed.

Looks like a great spot to spend some time and chase cod. Bet floating down in the tubes was relaxing and fun. Love the bird fly - shame it got taken but that's fishing I guess.
