Playing with my rod!

Well I only have Bigtez to blame for all this, but after catching that lizard last week on the rod I got from him (Dropshot 1-3kg, Sienna 1000FB reel) I realised how enjoyable it is to fish with better gear that what I had previously.

SO..... now added to the 'rod stack in the corner' is a Shimano Sahara 2-5kg, with Sienna 2500FB and now spooled up with 6lb fireline.

So look out fish... here I come!

it is nice to use nice gear, the only downfall is the price now, i'm about half way to a new cruise craft 625 outsider, doh

I love 2-5 kilo rods Booty, problem is they are few and far between in 6 foot, 7 foot there are a few around.

Funny you should mention that rod booty, I spent almost a full day trying to find one the same or similar without luck:( I found it great for throwing small hardbodies into the trees for bream.

I am yet to venture into the hard body experience, but a few guys from work are dead set keen Bass men so I might have to tag along with them and see what its all about.

I think you got the rod with the mojo. I sold the other one to a mate and I don't think he has got a fish on it yet....

BTW this was one of the first fish I got on it. 3kg GT using 6lb leader. Also got plenty of 60+ flatties and some 30+ bream, all from the Pine. If that isn't mojo I don't know what is:P

i got the same sahara rod and matched it with a 1500 sahara with 4lb. still havent christened it yet but will be as soon as i get a chance

I've got the same dropshot and just bought the same sahara rod!

Bigtez, the sahara rod is exclusive to BCF and they have 20% off all shimano rods atm.

Rod was $52.48 after 25% off, reel was $69.00 and braid was $19.95 on special.

So all up combo $141.00. Bit over an hours pay for me.... whoops was I suppose to say that
