Flat Bottom Tinny or Punt

Brian D

Recommended Posts

I am looking for a flat bottom tinny or punt to do up as a fresh water craft.

I Don't need trailer or motor althought all options will be considered.

Perfered size is around the 4.5mt A bit bigger is great but not much smaller and it must float - no holes.

Price to suit condition. Can pick up or will take delivery.

PM or leave a message if you have something of interest.

Brian I saw this one earlier this morning and sent you an email which will have the photos on it . As I said in the email it may be a bit small but it would make a good snakecatcher.

It is to small, but jeez what a ripper of a dam boat, twin hulls would be extremely stable, and it looks like it would have very good freeboard as well!

I reckon his estimate of capacity is a bit high, unregistered boats dont have a maximum capacity, but I reckon 2 adults would be comfortable, no more, particulary with batteries and fishing gear.

The motor would almost be worth what it is currently sitting at in the auction!

Brian,

Looked through an old Qld Fishing monthly (september if you want to go through you back copies) to see the mobs who advertise the hull only prices. (Kids have lost all other copies!)

The mob with the tinnies has \"upgraded\" their base model to 3.75 (used to be 3.3, which were the ones slightly over $1000)

Prices as follows

3.75m Tinnie $1840 (page 17)

3m polycraft $1600 (page 27)

4.1m polycraft $3700 (page 27)

So going on those prices, I'd reckon you would targeting around $1000 or cheaper for a second hand 3.75 hull. If dearer, may as well buy new.

Well done Brian.

As i said to Ray earlier, next time we do a dam day, we are going to have a fleet!

This is the one i want for freshwater.

I love it!

Got one - yahoooo - pick it up tomorrow - I got the Bermuda 395 from Southport for $800. It looks just great.

Thanks for the tip off Ray.

Cant remember which one that was, but congratulations Brian!

Looks like we will have to work out a system - your boat on Hinze, mine on Baroon!
