"To ensure North Stradbroke Island stays as beautiful as it is now, Redland Shire Council has introduced 4WD beach permits. All revenue raised from these permits is used for the revegetation of the island's sand dunes, maintenance of bush tracks and the general protection of beaches.

Permits are available from:

* Stradbroke Island Tourism (Junner Street, Dunwich)

* Redlands Tourism (152 Shore Street West, Cleveland)

All permits, except annual permits, can be purchased on the Stradbroke Island from:

* Camping ground rangers (after hours)

* Bob's 727 (Point Lookout)
