Local Fishing club & sick of small squire.....

Hi guys,

I've been fishing around Mud island and although I always catch plenty of fish, they're always 20cm or smaller, and mostly squire - how can I catch bigger fish?? It doesn't seem to matter how big the bait is, the small squire seem to love my hooks!!!

Also looking for the closest fishing club as I've recently moved to Underwood.

switch too soft plastics and increase the size to 5 - 7 in and you might find the bigger ones....., plus how deep are you fishing at mud?

do you want to join a club that fish's offshore or inside the bay? i'm with pba. meeting every month, and free pizza's too. a good club you can have experienced deckies on board if you want or just be a deckie for the day. also do a trip to 1770 once a year and a few to rainbow beach, but mainly offshore fishing.easy going bunch hey.

Head offshore and its pretty hard not to catch legal squire most times.

Depth is usually 5-7m

I have used soft plastics, but only 5in, and yep, you guessed it, only caught more squire!!

I'm a new boatie, so crossing the bar is something I haven't done yet :S

I am keen to try offshore and belive my boat is quite capable (mako canyon runner 560/ optimax 115), hence the request for a club to meet some experienced boaties and gain expeience.
