Sx 40LC fault

hey fellas,

bought a SX40LC and was trying it out and it appears to not swim as well as the normal sx40s and also when doing slow retrieves it kicks out of the water randomly without even a tangle. anyone else having any problems with them?

the last sx40lc i bought swam to the right really bad, i gave it a quick tune (bending the toe point in the opposite direction to which its swimming with a pair of pliers) and now it swims fine. hope this helps

Mate if you wanna be really anal about it, Ecogear claim to swimtest all their lures prior to packing, if you really think there's a problem with it then you could contact them and see if they'll do anything about it...

like my LC even more as it suspends, swimming action is fine i guess you got a dud?

try casting a bit more up current,dont know if u have an electric or not.other than that try a lighter leader,it creates less drag.

its got nothing to do with the casting or the knots i tie a perfection loop with light leader and the normal sx 40s i use swim fine

Adjust the eyelet as haglor said above, it will probably fix it

If its swimming off to one side, then as everyone has said, fix up the toe point/eyelet and she'll be right.

If these suggestions don't work defiantely get back to the retailer or ecogear and they will replace it. I know a bloke who made a big hulabaloo about some expensive lures he bought and got them replaced and some extra added bonus as well.

I found the same problem when using a heavy leader in a loop knot, 30lb on an sx-60.

Use a lure clip and see if it works, or use a lighter leader.
