Left field Rudder idea

Now all the Yaks I have seen have their rudder at the rear, well I dont have a rudder mount, but I do have several sets of scupper hulls along the boat, anyone ever built a rudder that runs through the scupper holes? I was thinking a twin unit (two scupper holes, and balance) operated by the feet would be fairly simple and a lot easier than running controls from a rear rudder. (I have two scupper holes in the anchor well just in front of my feet!).

mmmmmmm interesting, i found i only used my rudder in strong tidals area's when i was on dams or slow flowing areas it wasnt needed at all.
