queensland Clontarf 01.08.2009 Good Lizards

Hey Guys,

Headed out to some of usual haunt today with the waders with my ol' man. He bought some waders for the occasion. Session started well with a number of hits early on which was heartening. Couldn't land a fish though. Moved around and got onto a few. The ol' man couldn't get a keeper, but I managed my "bag". 3 went over 50cm, with the biggest 57cm. The ruler with the photo can't be seen, but thought I would submit it anyhow. It also shows my wading rig, that a few memebers were interested in seeing (nothing too excitiong I'm afraid). All fish on the 3" Gulp Shrimp.

It's always good to read about your Lizard hunting sessions Stewie. Gives the rest of us hope. Nice setup too.... makes me think I'm doing things the hard way with just a bag over my shoulder.

Top work Stewboss.. You have that place wired. Seems like they have moved from the Scarbrough end to the Clontarf end after the last lot of rain. Do you get them at most stages of the tide or are there special tricks? Dont worry I wont ask what they are

i'm just curious.....how deep do you wade??

Sorry guys, been a bit tardy on replying to you. I actually now like heading out in the waders about 1/2 tide out and ideally fish 1/2 tide back in (if I get a long enough leave pass). I wade out normally to a max of around 4 feet (a few cm below the top of the waders). I often move around about 1/2 km to track down a group of them.
