You will need a deep cycle battery of at least 100 amp hour in size

I use the gel batteries with 120 amp hr and I get 8 hours out of each one.

battery world at ipswich have bosch sealed calcium 500cca/100ah deep cycle batterys on special for $140

when i was at century batterys on monday they had a few big deep cycles on the blemished case rack for $100

Don't get caught, I went to Monduran with a guy who thought that second hand truck batteries were the best thing. $60.00 a throw and they last for about 2 hours. He soon realised that carrying 4 batteries was a poor substitute for one battery that lasts 8hrs. Just factoring in the time to charge 4 batteries opposed to one and carrying 4 batteries opposed to one and the expense of 4 second hand batteries you can soon see that it is worth doing it once and do it right.

I just spent 4 days at Awoonga dam for the first time (102cm Barra first one)and we were in a much heavier boat with 3 people and gear trolling in windy conditions and we got 9hrs trolling in a day on the one gel cell (120 amp hours) and it still wasn't flat!

Moral of the story, get the right tool for the job.
