queensland another cod!

took the yak out for a freshwater bash yesterday..went exploring some new water..didnt take long till i hooked up to a nice little cod but lost it at the side of the yak.

next snag i got smoked! bigtime! didnt stand a chance on 2lb (keep telling myself to upgrade!)

a few bass and a few yellas later i landed my 8th cod! yep im still counting! :laugh:

Great fish James, especially that yella. You mentioned getting smoked on 2lb - would I be right in assuming the ones you did get were on 2lb? If so, I salute!!

Looking at trying the freshwater scene soon and hopefully some more spinning for bream & flatties (NY resolution is to fish more than a few times a year!). I assume a 1-3kg rod and a 1000 reel would cover these options? Line-wise, would most people use 2, 4 or 6lb braid?

why upgrade, using light is great fun and i reckon it'd get more fish than going up to 4lb
